This morning our dear old boy Latif went over the rainbow bridge.
Right now our hearts feel like bursting, but with time the
wonderful
memories of our life together will console us.
His daughter Gaby and his granddaughter Svale are his legacy to us
and every
day we will keep on seeing him through them. Svale adored Latif
and it was
clear that he loved her back.
Latif touched many. He was beautiful and sweet, and many commented
on what a lovely saluki he was. In his younger days he was a fit
hunter, and now a mellow gentleman, but still ready to look after
his girls if needed.
He loved to lie between us in the bed on weekend mornings and
would keep on
coaxing us to stroke him over the head and fondle his ears. A real
softie.
When there was something he wanted he wouldn't let us rest until
we
understood. He was a character.
The page is turned, but it will take time to let go. It still
feels like he
is going to come up the stairs any moment to join me in the office.
Sleep tight dear friend and thank you for enriching our lives.
